Approximately 50 cars have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.
Vehicles, walls and postboxes were vandalized, sometimes with swastikas, they reported in a statement.
Law enforcement report they were contacted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a man discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish liquid.
The fluid had been placed in the pattern of a banned symbol, they stated.
Officers then located numerous other smeared automobiles and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.
Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under laws banning the public display of Nazi symbols.
Officials state early analysis suggest the fluid was likely blood from a person.
"There is still no lead as to its origin; officials are currently not informed of any injuries in association with the event," they stated.
Municipal representatives stated they were attempting "to resolve the case" and have appealed to the community for information.
A high-ranking official commented the vandalism made him without words and required to be addressed promptly.
"This act strikes at the core of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the extremist violent incident half a decade ago," he posted on social media, recalling the death of nine individuals by a assailant aiming at residents of immigrant origin in 2020.
